Lykens – Commercial Hotel, 1908

COMMERCIAL HOTEL

H. H. Tallman, Proprietor

The Commercial Hotel on Main Street, may truthfully be said to be the best equipped hotel property in Lykens, and second to none in the entire valley and under the management of its present proprietor, Harry H. Tallman, has acquired a widespread reputation, not only for its excellent table, and good, general accommodations, but for the manner in which it has always been conducted. The house is splendidly furnished throughout, has baths, toilets, is heated by steam, illuminated by electricity, has a well-stocked bar, stables, and all other modern conveniences, being regarded today as the most valuable hotel property in the borough. Mr. Tallman is a man who is particularly well-adapted for this business, who has built p a patronage which keeps the house filled to its capacity the greater part of the time. Mr. Tallman is looked upon as one of the most progressive citizens of Lykens, who has always been identified with all projects advanced for the improvement of local conditions and the general upbuilding of the town. He is a director of the Miners’ Deposit Bank, has been very successful in his business career as one of the most successful hotel men in the Lykens Valley.
