Lykens – George A. Kosier, 1908

GEORGE A. KOSIER

An example of the success to be attained by strict attention to business, and the faculty of recognizing where improvements in that business can be made, and therefore better serve those requiring his services, George A. Kosier, who took charge of the drayage business here on July 8, 1898, ranks foremost amongst the foremost. One single truck wagon at that time was the only conveyance used by his predecessor in the delivery of freight, express, etc., and since that his business has grown to such an extent that three teams are required. Mr. Kosier also has the contract to deliver all the mails from the trains to the post office here and at Wiconisco, and taking the mails from the same offices to the trains. In fact, all the mails passing through this place are in his charge. Mr. Kosier has thoroughly systematized the drayage business, and in order to assist in a wider field of labor, has engaged Mr. Edward Trout to assist in the drayage business. Mr. Kosier is a great lover of music, and is a member of the dauntless Male Quartet composed of local talent of this place and Wiconisco. He took a complete course in piano tuning and executes all work entrusted to him with care and gives satisfaction. He is an advocate of all that is progressive and to that end is Superintendent of Christ Reformed Sunday School, Vice President of the District Sunday School Association, Musical Director of the Reformed Church, and also an elder in the church. He tries to be useful wherever and whenever opportunity presents itself, and is one of our most respected citizens.
