The photo above was reproduced in a brochure which described the opening of the 1898 railroad station on Center Street in Millersburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. The photo is of the Civil War-era railroad station at Lenkerville that served as the passenger and freight station at the junction of the Summit Branch Railroad (Lykens Valley Railroad) and the Northern Central Railroad, i.e. the main railroad station for Millersburg until 1898.
Two tracks are seen in front of the station. Note that while the lower windows are shuttered, there are people in front of the station, possibly awaiting the arrival of a train. This station continued in use for many years after the 1898 station was built because it was at the junction of two railroads.
The northernmost point in the photograph are the tracks at the lower left of the picture, while the southernmost point is in the direction of the tracks at the right of the picture.
