Nelma S. [Snyder] Smeltz Walborn (1918-2020) – Centenarian

NELMA SARAH SMELTZ WALBORN

Nelma Sarah Smeltz Walborn 101, of Dornsife, left her earthly home and entered the gates of Heaven to be with her Heavenly Father on March 3, 2020. She passed at her home with family by her side.

She was born May 16, 1918 in Rebuck, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Sylvester Snyder and Adda Snyder. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Clarence Smeltz, and Ray Walborn, as well as a step-son Ray Walborn and 1 sister and 5 brothers numerous nephews and many friends.

Nelma is survived by two children, Wilbert Smeltz and wife Marlene Smeltz of Dornsife, Connie Lou Phillips and husband Randy Phillips of Dalmatia. She was blessed with 5 grandchildren, Kent Smeltz and wife Pam Smeltz, Kane Smeltz and wife Ellie Smeltz, Kris Smeltz and wife Chelesa Smeltz, Anthony Phillips and wife Erin Phillips, and Angela Shingara and husband Michael Shingara. She is also survived by 9 beautiful great grandchildren whom she adored… She is also survived by a step daughter-in-law Sue Walborn along with her two children Michelle Jones and husband Kirk Jones and Andrea Haynie and husband Jim Haynie along with their children….

She was a lifetime member of Himmel’s Church. She was a Mom, Memmy and Aunt Nelma, she was loved dearly and returned that love many times over. Earthly possessions meant little to her. She found her joy and happiness in the family that God gave her. Every visit from her family and friends was a blessing.

A private graveside service will be held March 8, 2020 at Himmel’s Cemetery.
