An 1847 map showing the route of the Great Western and Lake Erie Railroad which crossed the mountains northeast of the Lykens Valley and crossed the Susquehanna River around Sunbury and Northumberland, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania. The map shows Harrisburg but does not indicate railroads connecting from that place.
