Rev. Darius G. C. Moss (1944-2022) – Roman Catholic Pastor of Millersburg

REV. DARIUS G. C. MOSS

Rev. Darius G. C. Moss, 77, of Aliquippa, PA, formerly of Millersburg, Pennsylvania, passed from this earthly life to his heavenly reward, Thursday, September 29, 2022, in his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Born November 9, 1944, in Sewickley, he was a son of the late John Moss and Mary [Curtis] Moss.

Father Darius’ was highly educated. He received a Bachelor’s of Arts from Geneva College in 1970, his Juris Doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh in 1973, a Master’s of Public Health from the University of North Carolina in 1978, and his Master’s of Divinity from St. Vincent Seminary in 1997.

His diverse employment experience includes Assistant Attorney General, Department of Public Welfare, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; Health Planner, Capital Health Systems, Durham, North Carolina; Executive Assistant to Secretary of Health, and Assistant Counsel to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

His pastoral appointments consist of Parochial Vicar, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania; Divine Redeemer Catholic Church; Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, and Parochial Vicar, St. Patrick Catholic Church, Carlisle, Pennsylvania. He retired as Pastor of Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Millersburg, Pennsylvania.

Father Darius is survived by his beloved sister, Susan Jeter; his nieces, Shelly Duke, Marianne Dugan, and Susan Cottongim, and his great nephews, Joshua, Ryan and Ethan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John L. Moss; a sister, Cora Gohde; a brother-in-law, Robert Jeter, and a nephew, John Moss, Jr.

Entombment was made at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum, Rochester, Pennsylvania.

Father Darius was devout in his vocation. He was a good and faithful servant to his Lord, and to his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by many.
