REV. JOHN C. BRUMBACH ORDAINED SUNDAY

Sunday afternoon, June 6th [1926], at 2:30 in Christ Reformed Church, the Rev. John C. Brumbach was ordained as a minister of the Gospel and afterward installed as the Pastor of Christ Reformed Church, Lykens.  His pastor, the Rev. Thomas W. Dickert, D. D., pastor of St. Stephen’s Reformed Church, Reading, Pennsylvania, preached the Ordination service, and the Rev. E. R. Corman, a fraternity brother of the Rev. Brumbach’s, and pastor of the First Reformed Church, Sunbury, Pennsylvania, delivered the charge to the congregation.  Elder Corbit, of Trinity Reformed, Millersburg, Pennsylvania, offered the prayer.  The Installation service was in charge of the Rev. A. F. Dietz, pastor of Shamokin Salem Reformed, Shamokin, Pennsylvania. The Rev. Roland Rupp, pastor of  Trinity Reformed, Millersburg, was chairman of the committee and presided over the both services.  The services were most impressive.  Relatives of the Rev. Mr. Brumbach, as well as many friends from Reading, Lykens and Elizabethville, and a large number of the members of Christ Church attended these services.

The Rev. Mr. Brumbach has been supplying Christ Reformed since September 27th [1925], last year, in connection with his Seminary work.  On January 3rd [1926] he was unanimously elected as Pastor of the church.  May 12th [1926] he graduated from the Reformed Seminary at Lancaster and on May 15th [1926] he moved to Lykens.

The Rev. Mr. Brumbach is a graduate of the Reading High School in the Class of 1919.  In the fall of 1919, he enrolled in Franklin and Marshall College, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, from which he graduated with the A. B. degree in the Class of 1923.  In September 1923, he entered the reformed Seminary at Lancaster, from which he graduated May 12th [1926], receiving the Bachelor of Divinity.

During his Seminary course, the Rev. Mr. Brumbach supplied many of the Reformed pulpits in Reading and other churches of the Reformed denomination.  During the summer of 1924, he was student supply pastor of Faith reformed Church, Trafford, Pennsylvania, near Pittsburgh.  During the summer of 1925, he was the assistant to the Rev. Lee M. Erdman, pastor of St. Thomas reformed, Reading.
