Ruth Rebecca [Riegle] Stiely (1895-1984)

A photograph of Ruth Rebecca [Riegle] Stiely in her auto outside her school.  She was a teacher in Lykens Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.  This is possibly the Kissinger School, where she was known to have taught for at least one year.

Ruth Rebecca [Riegle] Stiely was born 20 May 1895 in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, the daughter of William Harvey Riegle (1868-1900) and Catherine Jane “Katie” [Boyer] Riegle (1869-1947).  She married John Monroe Stiely (1884-1934), who died of injuries from a saw mill accident.

Ruth then lived for 50 years as a widow and died on 15 March 1984.  Both John and Ruth are buried in Gratz Union Cmetery, Gratz, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
