Sara [Beasom] Neubold (1887-1950) – Millersburg Businesswoman & Civic Leader

DIES IN HOSPITAL

Mrs. Sara B. Neubold, wife of Ezra Neubold, of Millersburg R.D., died in the Keystone Hospital, Harrisburg, last Friday morning.

In impaired heath since October 1949, Mrs. Neubold was recently taken to the home of her niece, Mrs. Frederick Shinham, R.N., at Paxtang, from here she was removed to the hospital 19 December [1950].

Mrs. Neubold was a daughter of the late Samuel Beasom and wife of Newport, where she was born 21 November 1887.  She resided in the Millersburg community the past 24 years and for several years was engaged in business here.  She was an active member of St. David’s Reformed Church and Women’s Guild of the church, Killinger, and the Women’s Republican Club of Millersburg and Upper Paxton Township, of which she was welfare chairman.

Surviving are her husband, and two sisters, Mrs. Edward Gippert, Winthrow, Massachusetts, and Miss Pamela V. Besom, R.N., of Springfield, Massachusetts.

Services were held at the Riegle Funeral Home, 512 Market Street, Sunday at 2:30 p.m., Rev. Elden E. Ehrhart officiating.  Interment was made in David’s Reformed Church Cemetery, Killinger.
