William Sweitzer Farm, 1875

An undated photograph of a home located in Lykens Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, on what was in 1875, the 105 acre farm of William Sweitzer.

The home was built about 1855 of brick but sometime later was covered with siding.

This farm was part of a larger tract of land granted to John Reiter by the Commonwealth of Pennsyvlania and patented to him in 1786.  It was called Reitersburgh or Reitersburg.

The 1875 farm of William Sweitzer was located in the southwest quadrant of Lykens Township, just west of Gratz, and in the northeast edge of the community called Specktown.
