BENJAMIN E. SNYDER – Livery and Boarding Stables
The subject of this sketch, Benjamin E. Snyder, has been closely identified with the commercial interests of Lykens since about 1895, when he purchased the livery business of J. J. Nutt and is today classed among the most successful young business men of the town. His livery and boarding stables is the only concern of the kind in the borough. Here may be had safe and gentle horses, good travelers, buckled to neat and slowly buggies and the equipages coming from the stables are equal in appearance to any private conveyance in this community. The equipment includes open and closed carriages and coaches, for weddings, funerals and extra occasions. In a general characterization of Lykens resources and conveniences, the enterprise under review may be said to be a representative of the best the Valley has to offer in the line of livery and boarding stables. Since embarking in the business here fifteen years ago, Mr. Snyder has proved himself a thorough business man and his success has been the result of his own unaided efforts. By providing Lykens with the best equipped livery facilities the borough has ever had, Mr. Snyder is today regarded as one of the town’s most active and progressive business men. Fraternally, he is associated with the K. of P., P. O. S. of A, Wiconisco, and I. O. R. M.
