AREA SOLDIER SLAIN IN VIETNAM
Sgt. Alex Boyd Conley, 22, son of Lt. Col. and Mrs. Richard H. Conley, Halifax R. D. 1, was killed in action in Vietnam last week.
Sgt. Conley was a rifle squad leader in Company C, 2nd Battalion, 12th Infantry, 25th Infantry Division.
Sgt. Conley’s survivors include his parents, now living in Frankford Arsenal, Philadelphia; two brothers, Capt. Richard W. Conley, in Germany, and Ronald P. Conley, a senior at Frankford High School in Philadelphia.
Services will be held today (Thursday) at 2 p. m. in Salem Lutheran Church, Elizabethville. Officiating at the service will be his uncle, the Rev. Paul Gerhard, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church of Pittsburgh; the Rev. David W. Hauck, pastor of Salem Lutheran Church in Elizabethville; and the Rev. W. W. Conley, pastor of Christian Alliance Church in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Elizabethville.
