Hegins – Soldier Mail, 1943

A post card mailed from Riverside, California, August 28, 1943, at 5:30 P. M., to Mr. Charles Huntzinger, Hegins, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, from Pvt. Wilbur L. Huntzinger, Camp Haan, California. Soldier mail was “Free” so Pvt. Huntzinger did not have to affix a one cent stamp.

Hello Folks,

There are nineteen men in my bks [barracks].  They are all from good old Pa. except three, one from Ohio, West Virginia, and our sarge is from Florida. Boy there sure are nice girls out here working in the post exchanges.  We go there especially to see them.

Write,

Your Son
