In June 1972, Hurricane Agnes, caused major damage to Pennsylvania. The storm destroyed the home of Margaret Shadle at the west end of Loyalton, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. It was one of over 43,000 homes partially or completely destroyed by the storm in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The picture is of Route 209, or Main Street, looking west. The home was located opposite the Valley Inn (note sign at left edge of photo).
