Millersburg – Ferry, 1974 – Flood Measurements on the Susquehana River

A 1974 newspaper photo from the Citizen-Standard  (Valley View, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania), showing the high water marks on the Susquehanna River in Perry County, Pennsylvania, at the Millersburg Ferry landing.

From the top, the water marks are given as:  1972; 1936; 1904; 1894; 1889; 1946; 1964; and 1886.

The photo caption states:

Signs show the years and heights that flood waters have reached on the Liverpool side of the river where the Millersburg Ferry is located.  The pilot, Jack Dillman, points to the highest point, which occurred in 1972.

Millersburg Ferry, Millersburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
