By 1928, the Ku Klux Klan presence in the Lykens Valley area had begun to fade away. However, some additional news briefs have been located from 1928 and are given here in this blog post.
This post is a continuation of the reporting on hate groups that were active in the Lykens Valley area. It was a widely known fact that the Ku Klux Klan had a significant presence in the Lykens Valley and adjacent valleys during the early years of the 20th Century. This iteration of the Klan was strongly white supremacist and was opposed to equal rights for African Americans, Catholics, Jews, and immigrants.

Mrs. Mellie Hassinger and Charles Zeiders witnessed the K. K. K. fireworks in Small Valley, on Labor Day.

from the Pine Grove Press Herald, October 5, 1928:
The K. K. K. of Schuylkill County were disappointed last Saturday. The inclement weather marred the prospects of the proposed field day to be held at Cressona on that day. The assembly will now be held the coming Saturday. Herbert C. Shaw, Grand Dragon of Pennsylvania, will be one of the speakers. Music will be furnished by the Cressona band.

From the Pine Grove Press Herald, October12, 1928:
The tall flag pole purchased by the K. K. K. was placed in position last Monday evening. The ball for flag will be put in position later. The work was done by members of the organization, who, with the students, teachers and citizenry will be delighted to see Old Glory unfurled from it.
