Rev. Dr. Lawrence E. Bair (1884-1946) – Reformed Pastor of the Lykens Valley

The obituary of Rev. Dr. Lawrence E. Bair, a professor of practical theology at the Reformed Theological Seminary, appeared in a local newspaper at the time of his death, 27 July 1946, and included the information that he had served as a former pastor of the Trintity Reformed Church, Millersburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.

DR. BAIR, SEMINARY PROFESSOR DIED SATURDAY

Rev. Dr. Lawrence E. Bair, age 69 years, professor of practical theology at the Reformed Theological Seminary, Lancaster, died Saturday.

Rev. Dr. Bair was ordained into the ministry in 1910, at Shamokin, where he became assistant pastor of St. John’s Reformed Church, and later pastor of Salem’s Reformed Church. He was also a former pastor of Trinity Reformed Church, Millersburg, and the First Reformed Church, Greensburg, Pennsylvania.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Sadie [Starr] Bair, one son, Rev. Lawrence Bair Jr., pastor of Trinity Church, Center Hall; two daughters, Mrs. Maude Williams, of Short Hills, New Jersey, and Miss Laura Bair, of Pittsburgh.

Funeral services were held from the residence in Lancaster Wednesday morning, with further services in the Hegins Reformed Church that afternoon. Interment was made at Hegins.
