CUBS BASEBALL TEAM — Stanley Jones of East Islip, New York, and avid reader of the Herald, sent this picture which many people will enjoy seeing. It was taken after the Cubs baseball team received their first uniforms. They tried them on in the post office lobby when Bert Schreiner was acting postmaster. This picture was taken one Sunday afternoon in the year 1909.

Second Row: Chester Fegley, manager; Charles Messner; Clayton Powell; Mark Charlesworth; Ben Kaufman, assistant manager.
Back Row: Lester Stine; Thomas Walsh; Frank Doorley; William Messner.
The only two members still living [in 1972] are Powell and Jones.
