
LT. VANCE BLYLER KILLED IN BELGIUM
Lt. Vance K. Blyler was killed in action in Belgium on January 19, according to word received by his widow, Mrs. Helen M. Blyler, 1317 Berryhill Street.
Prior to entering the service in March 1942, Lieutenant Blyler, a graduate of Williamstown High School and Baltimore College was employed by Western Electric Company at Washington.
Training at Camp Polk, Louisiana, Lieutenant Blyler attended Officers’ Candidate School at Fort Knox, Kentucky, received his commission in November, 1942. Later he served with the 11th Armored Division overseas.
In addition to his widow and an eighteen-months-old son, Lieutenant Blyler is survived by his mother.
