The photograph is said to be of the home of Walter Hoover and Lottie May [Hoover] Hoover of Lykens Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. The couple had three daughters: Sallie Hoover, born about 1901; Leah Hoover, born about 1904; and Emma Hoover, born about 1905. The youngest child in the photo is probably Emma, who appears to be about 3 years old, therefore dating the picture as about 1908. The older woman on the porch is most likely Lottie May’s mother, who died in 1936. Walter’s mother, Maggie [Evitts] Hoover, died in 1907.
